ANTIPRISM
ANTIPRISM
ANTIprism is a percussion ensemble piece for nine performers. It is an exploration of transient textures, and, virtually absent of melody, is a gradation of rich, colorful sonorities and stacked tertian harmonies, that then morph into dissonance, and finally transform into a cacophony of solely non-pitched percussion instruments. Simply, it is an aural representation of shifting from vivid chroma to austere grayscale, where harmony eventually mutates into mere texture.

SUPERNOVA
SUPERNOVA
Supernova is a piece that was inspired by the massive explosion that a star gives off once it dies. Throughout the entirety piece, massive grooves and chaotic material signify several "supernovae" as the energy is scattered throughout the vacuum of space -- in this case, the performance hall!

RADIANT AUTUMN
RADIANT AUTUMN
Autumn is, for many reasons, my favorite season of the year. Something about the combination of that cool, crisp air . . . the ability to wear scarves and cardigans . . . the beautiful warm colors of the leaves . . . the holidays . . . marching band season . . . and of course, pumpkin spice lattés, all rolled into one, truly make autumn a wonderful season. But this piece is not inspired by my daily activities with marching band, nor by pumpkin spice lattés. Radiant Autumn, written for flute, clarinet, bassoon, bass clarinet, and marimba, is split into two sections. The first section is inspired by the sheer serenity of viewing all of the radiant colors that surround us in nature once autumn hits, combined with the cool, crisp breeze of dropping temperatures whisking by our faces. The second section is inspired by the vast array of falling leaves rolling around through the air and in the grass as the wind starts to pick up; a beautiful sight.
